Symposium

The IT event for specialists and managers of international aid organisations.

The WINPACCS Symposium 2019 took place on 5 November in Wetzlar and was well attended by 50 guests from Germany and overseas. Nearly all the workshops were held in English and the plenary sessions in German were accompanied by a simultaneous interpreting service to encourage an international audience.

Following a keynote speech on artificial intelligence by Professor Michael Guckert from TH Mittelhessen University of Applied Sciences, the Symposium’s participants shifted their focus entirely to WINPACCS.

In an entertaining live demo, mbi employees presented WINPACCS to the plenum which was met with considerable enthusiasm.

This was followed by a varied and informative programme of workshops on a range of topics. The crowd-pullers were the new "Project planning and monitoring" and "Project controlling and billing" functions available in WINPACCS Cloud. As previously, the workshop on digital documents in WINPACCS proved very popular.

Many participants were highly impressed with the way WINPACCS customers were involved in the workshops, thus allowing them to report directly about their work in the field. Our customers were therefore key to the success of the event, embodying the Symposium’s motto: Sharing Competence, for which we are very grateful.

Information about the presentations and workshops, as well as photos of the event, can be found here.

Impressions of 2019 Symposium

We asked: What did you particularly like?

The participants responded:

Venue

Located in the heart of the state Hessen in central Germany, Wetzlar straddles the river Lahn a mere 30 miles north of Frankfurt. Having been an economic and cultural hub of the region since medieval times, it is now most famous for its optics industry and its association with German national poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. With a population of just over 50,000 people, Wetzlar remains a favourite among visitors attracted not just by its historic old town and cathedral, but also its beautiful surroundings along the Lahn valley.
For more details, visit Wetzlar at www.wetzlar.de and www.wetzlar-kongress.de.

The WINPACCS Symposium will take place in the conference rooms of Wetzlarer Hof hotel and the nearby town hall Stadthalle. With its stunning view of the old town and inviting atmosphere, this venue is the perfect place to host the classic WINPACCS event. Bright rooms, modern equipment and the unique location are sure to make this a memorable day for all participants.
