The institute was founded in Kumasi, Ghana, in 1997 in cooperation with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), the Ghanaian Ministry of Health and the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine in Hamburg (BNITM).
Promotion of scientific talent and training of masters and doctorate students forms part of the mission of the KCCR.
Besides the operators, the institute also receives project financing from the European Union, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and other donors.
WINPACCS was rolled out in the KCCR research centre in 2012 with a training seminar in Kumasi given by employees of mbi GmbH. WINPACCS Accounting and WINPACCS cost control are in use, as well as the corresponding functionalities of WINPACCS Cloud.
The Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR) has great professionalism not only in handling research assignments. We also attach importance to very competent and auditable management of our funding vis-à-vis the donors. For that reason, we decided on the WINPACCS system, which has proven its worth and auditability in the area of international cooperation.
