In India, women and girls with disabilities often face discrimination. In addition to the challenges associated with their disability, they suffer from deeply rooted social and cultural prejudices. Gender-based violence is widespread, and many women lack access to basic services such as health care, education or a fair legal system.
The situation is alarming:
Together with local partners, DAHW Deutsche Lepra- und Tuberkulosehilfe e.V. is working in Madhya Pradesh, India, to sustainably improve the lives of around 2,350 women and girls with disabilities.
