It examines the Swiss national filing applications and grants industrial property rights and administers them.
The IGE’s international cooperation has the task of working in the field of intellectual property in cooperation with other national and international organisations. Among others, its goals are to make a contribution to the improvement of the economic situation in partner countries through reforms in the field of intellectual property, to make a contribution to the improvement of the worldwide protection of intellectual property and to support Swiss activities in international fora.
In 2012, the IGE decided to rollout WINPACCS as a project accounting system for international projects.
Thus, the IGE was the first Swiss organisation to use WINPACCS.
Before the rollout of WINPACCS, the accounting data were captured locally in a spreadsheet and then consolidated in the institute’s accounting.
The first step in the rollout was for IGE employees to participate in a standard seminar. After that seminar, rollout consulting took place on site, together with a Train-the-Trainer seminar. That formed the basis for a successful rollout of WINPACCS in the worldwide projects.
