In 1982, Gabriele Kleinen-Rätz started to work as administrative and financial officer for DVV International, the Institute for International Cooperation of the German Adult Education, in the field of development cooperation. In 2002 she became Head of Administration and was responsible for the proper financial and administrative execution of the international projects. In this context, she got to know WINPACCS and took charge of its introduction to the projects, conducting numerous trainings in Africa, Asia and Southeast Europe.
Since 2020 she works part-time for the Department of International Relations of DGRV, the German Cooperation and Raiffeisen Foundation, meanwhile as Teamleader Project Accounting. In the last year, WINPACCS was selected as the new project accounting software, and Gabriele Kleinen-Rätz was tasked with setting up and implementing it.
