System requirements

WINPACCS Cloud

To access WINPACCS Cloud you require an Internet connection and one of the following browsers:

  • Mozilla Firefox (recommended)
  • Google Chrome (recommended)
  • Microsoft Edge

WINPACCS Cloud can be used with any operating system.

A minimum speed of 384 kbit/s is needed for working in WINPACCS Cloud. However, we recommend a speed of 6 Mbit/s and higher to work comfortably with the Project controlling, Digital vouchers and Document management functions.

 

WINPACCS Accounting and WINPACCS Cashbook

The following system requirements apply to the operation of WINPACCS Accounting and WINPACCS Cashbook with installation on standalone computers. Operation without installation is possible with a terminal server or Azure Virtual Desktop

Operating system

  • Microsoft Windows 11 (64-Bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 10 (64-Bit)

Regularly updating your operating system with Windows updates will ensure that installation and operation run smoothly.

For Windows 10 and 11, please note the end of service of the Windows 10 or 11 version you are using. Official information from Microsoft can be found at:: Windows Life Cycle Information.

Hardware (minimum)

  • 1.5 GHz Dual Core processor 64-bit (x64) or higher
  • 6 GB memory
  • Screen resolution 1024x768 at 100% scaling
  • Free hard disk space 10 GB or more

Hardware (recommended)

  • 2.0 GHz Dual Core processor (from Intel Core i series 8. generation) or higher with 64-bit (x64)
  • 8 GB memory or more
  • Screen resolution 1366x768 at 100% scaling
  • Operating system installed on Solid State Drive (SSD)
  • Free hard disk space 20 GB or more

Hardware (for journals with more than 50,000 posting positions)

  • 2.0 GHz Dual Core processor (from Intel Core i series 8. Generation) or higher with 64-bit (x64)
  • 16 GB memory or more
  • Screen resolution 1366x768 at 100% scaling
  • Operating system installed on Solid State Drive (SSD)
  • Free hard disk space 20 GB or more

Scaling above 100% requires a correspondingly higher screen resolution.

Virtualised environments

WINPACCS Accounting and WINPACCS Cashbook can also be used in a virtualised environment. The following system requirements apply to the host:

Hardware (Host)

  • 2.0 GHz Dual Core processor (from Intel Core i series 8. generation) or more with 64-bit (x64)
  • 16 GB memory or more
  • Screen resolution 1366x768 at 100% scaling
  • Free hard disk space 20 GB or more
  • Operating system and virtual machine installed on Solid State Drive (SSD)

The guest requirements in a virtualised environment correspond to the general system requirements for WINPACCS Accounting and WINPACCS Cashbook. Working in a virtual environment can lead to a slight reduction in execution speed.

To use WINPACCS on Apple devices under macOS we recommend a current version of Parallels Desktop for Mac for virtualisation. Please see the Parallels Desktop for Mac system requirements.



Network installation / Terminal server

WINPACCS Accounting and WINPACCS Cashbook can be used in a client / server network installation or a terminak server after consultation with WINPACCS Support. In this case, the following system requirements apply to the server:

Operating system

  • Microsoft Windows Server from version 2016
  • Microsoft Windows Server from version 2019 is recommended

For smooth operation, we recommend that Windows updates and the latest service packs are installed regularly.

Memory

  • 16 GB or more

Database server

  • Microsoft SQL Server (Express) from version 2017

Hard disk

  • Solid State Drive (SSD)
  • Free hard disk space 20 GB or more

Network connection

  • 1,000 Mbit/s (wired)

For a terminal server, an additional 1-2 GB of RAM should be planned for each parallel WINPACCS user.



Azure Virtual Desktop

WINPACCS Accounting and WINPACCS Cashbook can be operated in an Azure Virtual Desktop environment in the Microsoft Azure Cloud. This means that no software needs to be installed on the clients, just a stable internet connection with at least 1 Mbit/s.

In addition to the session host for WINPACCS Accounting and WINPACCS Cashbook, the operation of a separate backend server for databases and automatic data exchange is recommended. The following minimum requirements apply:

Backend server

  • 16 GB RAM
  • 4 vCPUs
  • 50 GB SSD storage for WINPACCS data. When using digital document in many projects 100 GB or more
  • Recommendation: Standard_D8s_v5 with 8 vCPUs and 32 GB RAM

Session host

  • Approx. 1-2 GB RAM for WINPACCS per user working in parallel
  • Recommendation: VMs with at least 8 vCPUs and 32 GB RAM
