Many new features in WINPACCS Cloud 2020.02

WINPACCS Cloud version 2020.02 has been available since the start of November! The new versions of WINPACCS Accounting 4.3 and WINPACCS Cashbook 2.3 can now also be downloaded from our Customer portal.

This release includes some major new features, many of which we have implemented due to your feedback – thank you very much for your input! Here are the highlights:

The new WINPACCS Inventory management allows you to enter assets in WINPACCS Accounting and manage them in WINPACCS Cloud. In addition to the master data of each asset, WINPACCS Cloud shows all the movements (e.g. acquisitions or sales) as well as current residual values. Keep track of the total value of assets in your projects, compile lists of assets for donors and much more besides. Utilise the extensive customising possibilities to employ the Inventory management functional area to meet your precise requirements. To make it easier for you to get started, an extensive online help feature is available in this functional area!

Assign digital vouchers directly during posting with the new versions of WINPACCS Accounting and WINPACCS Cashbook. Open your previously scanned vouchers in the applications and copy the posting data from the digital vouchers. You no longer need to print barcodes and can upload digital vouchers along with voucher batches and closings. Choose which scanner or smartphone app you use for digitalising. We are now offering you a multi-factor authentication (MFA) at log-in to increase the security of your data. You are most likely familiar with this function from online banking websites. In addition to the combination of user name and password, you can employ other factors (e.g. a user's smartphone) to ensure that only this person actually logs in with the access data. If you are interested in this function, please contact your consultant to clarify your requirements. Please note – it is not obligatory to use it.
By the way – our Support staff already use the multi-factor authentication, and as an extra step, identify themselves via their mobile phones before they can access customers’ productive data for providing support.

From this release onwards, confidential data such as salary postings can be marked as confidential again. Confidential journals and budgets can only be viewed by specially authorised users. This data is not visible to other users. See the new White Paper on this topic.

The dashboard now shows you open tasks for which you can also set up email notifications. Depending on your user role, you will be reminded of pending approvals and checks and can open the corresponding data with a single click.

Simplified setup of test and training environments

If you want to offer training on WINPACCS or test new functions and interfaces, we offer WINPACCS in a separate deployment environment. Compared to your productive environment, you benefit from the following advantages:

  • You can undo any changes you make, as the deployment environment can be reset to a previously saved state by WINPACCS Support after tests or training.
  • The smooth operation of your productive environment is not in any way endangered by tests and training.
  • A separate deployment environment for testing and training also upholds the privacy of your production data.
  • There is no separate billing for test or training projects and user roles in an additional deployment environment; they are included in the lower monthly basic fee.

Setting up WINPACCS Accounting and WINPACCS Cashbook is now much easier thanks to a specially developed tool. In the Customer portal you can download the WINPACCS Environment Configuration Assistant.
