Our regular Coordinator information aims to provide you with up-to-date information on WINPACCS and assist you in your role as WINPACCS coordinator within your organisation.

WINPACCS Cloud update

The WINPACCS Cloud Version 2019.03 will be released on 24 October!

The new release has a number of highlights in store:

  • The new Document management functions now allows you to store documents in WINPACCS Cloud or to set a link to external document management systems. For example, you can store contract documents with donors, fundings or partners, or save attachments to a project or budget. Information on the additional costs for this function can be found in the new price list.
  • In Project controlling, it is now possible to view planned values as well as actual values in margin costing. The planned values are based on the new "contribution margin budgets".
  • New table functions are available under "Projects" and "Bank details" making it easier to filter, sort, and group data. The search function has been optimised as well. These improved table functions will also be gradually implemented in other WINPACCS Cloud tables.

Our latest White Paper "New features in WINPACCS Cloud 2019.03", which clearly illustrates these highlights, will be available for downloading from our WINPACCS portal shortly.

Furthermore, this release includes a number of minor improvements. The Release notes provide an overview of all the new features.

New versions of WINPACCS Accounting and WINPACCS Cashbook are on the horizon too. We’ll also provide you with accompanying Release notes describing the changes in them. The exact release date will be announced soon.

Would you like to conduct WINPACCS trainings yourself? We’ll be glad to assist you. An extensive documentation package in English is now available for training your employees. The package includes a complete training programme with exercises and solutions.

It enables experienced users with some didactic skills to train project accountants, project controllers and project finance managers themselves.

The documentation is available in our Customer portal.

We’ve updated our price list in line with the new features in WINPACCS. In doing so, we’ve not changed the prices of existing functions; we’ve simply added the new functions.

Here’s an overview of the changes:

  • The basic fee now includes the "Donor administrator" user role for two users.
  • Two new roles: "Project planner" and "Project planning administrator" have been added to the price list for the new "Project planning and monitoring" function“, which is currently only available for selected customers for testing.
  • The new "Document management" function has been included in the price list as an optional extra.
  • We have now specified prices and conditions for the additional deployment environments for functional testing, integration testing (staging) and training.

The new price list can be viewed on our website and is valid from 1 December 2019.

Microsoft will officially discontinue its support for Windows 7 on 14 January 2020 and will not provide any more security updates etc. for Windows 7 hereafter.

As of this date, we will no longer check new versions of WINPACCS for compatibility with Microsoft Windows 7.

If you are still using WINPACCS with Windows 7, we would advise you to switch over to a newer operating system by this date. This will ensure that you can continue using WINPACCS smoothly at your site in the future.

To date the translation of the "Project manager" user role has been a little misleading. We’ve therefore amended the translation as follows:

  • English "Project assistant" (replaces "Project manager")
  • Spanish "Asistente de proyectos" (replaces "Encargado de proyectos")
  • French "Assistante de projet" (replaces "Adaptateur de projet")

We hope that the new translation will make it clearer who the user role is suitable for.
