This year’s Customer Day took place in Wetzlar on 23 October and the key topic was WINPACCS 2018 with its new features and improvements. Participants got a close-up on how the new WINPACCS claim “The integrated software solution for development cooperation” is realised with WINPACCS 2018.
A total of 29 participants from 12 development organisations and consulting companies made their way to Wetzlar for a day full of presentations and workshops on WINPACCS. The new functions of WINPACCS 2018 and a glance at the schedule for implementation proved particularly popular. The day concluded with a presentation on the global rollout of WINPACCS 2018 at GIZ including the challenges it posed and the successes.

The format of both events will reflect previous years and again be held in Wetzlar.
Due to the new functions and options in WINPACCS 2018, we have had to adjust the user roles. While making these changes we also took the opportunity to realise other functions that had been suggested.
The future user roles will be moulded even more closely to the typical tasks and profiles of users working in development cooperation. To aid understanding we have split the user roles into two groups Project roles and Administrator roles.
Going forward, it will also be possible to allocate projects or other objects to any of the users via the Assignment of objects function. This means that a user might have different rights in different projects.
Furthermore, we will also create a way of mapping the internal structure of your organisation or your mode of operation in WINPACCS with Organisational structures. These can then be used for the assignment of objects. We plan to implement the changes in the following steps:
First the new Project accountant (for WINPACCS accounting 4) and Project cashier (for WINPACCS cashbook 2) project roles will be expanded to include several rights that are necessary for the 2018.02 release at the end of the year.
We plan to implement the new role concept with the 2019.01 release in the spring of 2019 and the 2019.02 release in the summer of the same year.
We will give you all the necessary information with detailed documentation on each occasion.
The new features in WINPACCS 2018 mean we have had to adjust the price list; we have thus revised and modified it. It is now available on our website and applies to new customers from 01.12.2018 and to existing customers starting 01.04.2019.
Here is an overview of the most important changes:
As mentioned at the Customer Day, the new price list is not an attempt to raise prices. To avoid possible price increases for existing customers and to continue offering discounts as in the past, we are offering a permanent 20 % discount to our existing customers on all WINPACCS functions.
New customers that have opted for WINPACCS 2018 over the past few weeks will be eligible for a 10 % discount.
These discounts will also apply to all the future new functions of WINPACCS.

The dates for our seminars in 2019 have now been published. In addition to the formats you are familiar with – seminars and workshops – we will also start offering webinars next year.
Our WINPACCS webinars look at less complex topics in the form of online-presentations. In one to two hour sessions our WINPACCS consultants will explain individual WINPACCS functions or topics tailored to certain user roles. The presentations can be watched on your screen and you can play an active role by contributing your questions.
In the new year, you will again have a package of complementary seminars. Please feel free to use them!
Another new way of getting to know WINPACCS functions are our free How-to videos. Currently you can find our free of charge: “Entering Vouchers in WINPACCS cashbook 2.0” How-to video on our YouTube channel. We will add more as the year progresses. Feel free to forward the link to your colleagues.
