with this coordinator information we intend to regularly inform you about current topics of WINPACCS and to assist you in your role as WINPACCS coordinator within your organisation.
This issue’s topics:
A lot of time has passed and a lot has happened since PACCS (the precursor of WINPACCS) was rolled out in the first projects. This year it will be 30 years, and we plan to celebrate that.
We have planned a special programme for this special occasion:
Save the date. You are cordially invited! Soon you will be able to register on our website.
We have also reserved an allotment of rooms in the neighbouring Hotel Wetzlarer Hof, in case you would like to stay the night.
Many of our customers use the Logical Framework Approach (LFA), in order to be able to plan and to monitor the results of their projects. We have often been requested to integrate the LFA into WINPACCS.
So, we are in the process of creating new functionality in WINPACCS that will enable you to:
We are currently in the conceptual phase and would really like to consider your requirements and needs in the process. Do you actually use the Local Framework Approach in your organisation and are you interested in that kind of functionality with WINPACCS?
In order to understand how you use the LFA, exemplary planning and monitoring overviews would be very helpful for us. If you have any feedback related to this issue, please contact Michael Bork (Tel. +49 6441 780945).
When you download digital vouchers out of WINPACCS online in WINPACCS accounting or WINPACCS cost control, they will be saved locally. There is a size limit to the database in which voucher scans are saved. If you observe the following instructions, you can save many thousands of vouchers locally:
The current size limit only refers to the digital vouchers that are actually downloaded into the WINPACCS accounting or WINPACCS cost control modules. There are no size limits for vouchers that have been digitally saved in WINPACCS online.
The storage space available locally for digital vouchers will be significantly expanded with the updates to the suite modules planned for 2018.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact our Support Team.
We have become aware of the following two bugs in WINPACCS accounting and in WINPACCS cost control:
Our Support Team would be more than happy to supply you with the free patches that will solve these bugs. You can execute the patches directly. There is no need to install them prior to using them.
The next regular releases of the applications will not contain these bugs anymore.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact our WINPACCS consultant André Scharmann.
Our WINPACCS Glossary is now available for download as a PDF from the Document Library.
The WINPACCS terminology in the glossary is clearly arranged in German, English, French and Spanish. The glossary also gives explanations for core terms.
Our hope is that the WINPACCS Glossary serves to improve the communication between WINPACCS users from different language backgrounds.
We are still offering the following seminars this year:
One more employee becomes an asset to our team! Michael Bork now supports us with the development of WINPACCS.
We are happy that after having successfully completed his Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Michael Bork decided to accept a permanent position at mbi, as of May 1st. As a software analyst, he contributes to the conceptual design of the WINPACCS product.
He is also the contact person for the planned functionality related to the Logical Framework Approach in WINPACCS. Feel free to contact him if you have any suggestions or requirements in this regard (Michael.Bork@mbi.de, Tel. +49 6441 780945).
In addition, we are currently looking to fill the following positions:
Do you know anyone who would be up to the task on a freelance basis? We can also see ourselves working with someone from your organisation who works with WINPACCS and has some unutilised capacity. In such a case, it would be great if you could pass along the job description.
