Internet-based

WINPACCS manager is an internet-based application with the advantage to access and use its functionality from any computer anywhere in the world. The only prerequisite is internet access and a browser (Internet Explorer 5.5 and above).

This grants flexible possibilities for internationally operating development organisations:

• Centrally stored, all project master data is available worldwide for the head offices, country branches and their projects.
• The available functions of the WINPACCS manager can be assigned to organisational units at home or abroad, depending on the requirements.

Centralized master data – decentralized booking

The specific requirements of a financial administration in the context of a development cooperation call for:

• defining and organizing master data centrally,
• while accounting and voucher data entry is de-centralized (offline), to allow processing without permanent internet access.

The architecture and structure of WINPACCS optimally provides for the following requirements:

• centralized administration of master data via internet
• electronic transfer of the master data to the WINPACCS modules through internet or email
• decentralized input of accounting data based on consistent and up-to-date master data settings

Using ASP

The module uses ASP (Application Service Providing) technology - meaning, that the application runs on an internet server. This results in various advantages for the customers:

• No expenses for service, support and maintenance
• Guaranteed availability
• Access to the latest program versions 
• No investment costs

Direct transfer of data

The entered settings and the master data can be transferred via a XML-interface to all WINPACCS modules of the organisation at the push of a button and will configure all modules based on the provided settings.

Every aspect of the clients organisational structure can be managed by WINPACCS manager.

Managing charts of accounts

With WINPACCS manager you can easily set up charts of accounts and sub-charts of accounts. It is possible to:

• Use a standard chart of accounts for all projects or
• Assign individual charts of accounts for each project

The account is sent to all projects via e-mail and can be imported into the three modules WINPACCS cashbook, WINPACCS accounting and WINPACCS cost control.

It is also possible to update charts of accounts triggered by added accounts.

Managing project and journal master data

WINPACCS manager allows to centrally create and manage project and journal master data.

WINPACCS accounting can import this data and has subsequently all necessary settings and parameters available for the posting.

Multi-client feature

WINPACCS manager supports the management of various clients and allows to operate completely separate accounts e.g. for collaborating local partner organisations or for co-funding donors, based on their specific master data settings.

Flexible user administration

The administrator may create various users with different user rights. 

It is possible to assign separate rights to access client settings, project and journal master data or the chart of accounts with permissions to “read only” or to “read and write”.

Complete model client with all data

A complete set of sample data for a client with accounts, projects and journals is available.

It is easy to quickly familiarize oneself with the functionality of WINPACCS manager, including exploring the export function and the resulting effects on the other WINPACCS modules.

Comprehensive help

To support the user, WINPACCS manager features a comprehensive online help. Each screen format has a help button, providing context-sensitive help with detailed explanations on the available fields.
