The story of WINPACCS

Today, WINPACCS represents a reliable and established system of applications and services for organisations of development cooperation and humanitarian aid. What is the story behind WINPACCS?

2008

mbi GmbH starts to offer regular seminars for WINPACCS suite in partner countries.

The aid organisation Caritas international implements WINPACCS in their country offices.

2007

The WINPACCS modules accounting, cost control, cashbook und distribution are combined by the term WINPACCS suite.

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH purchases a company license for WINPACCS cost control and orders to extend the application for the complex requirements by the organisation.

2006

With InWEnt gGmbH another worldwide operating company decides for the use of WINPACCS.

WINPACCS manager is released and introduced to different WINPACCS customers. It enables a web-based administration of project master data.

The development of WINPACCS communication begins, which is a technology that enables an asynchronous connection of WINPACCS modules to the WINPACCS manager.

2005

Distribution of WINPACCS cashbook which was developed in cooperation with mbi GmbH and the GTZ.

The first WINPACCS symposium takes place.

Together with the Welthungerhilfembi GmbH starts developing the new module WINPACCS distribution, an application to monitor the distribution of aid supplies.

2004

First distribution of WINPACCS cost control. Important partners of the development are the German Development Service (DED) and the Welthungerhilfe.

2003

The former WINPACCS is renamed to WINPACCS accounting, since besides project book keeping, additional modules under the name WINPACCS are developed to complement this system.

2002

The mbi GmbH acquires the rights for distribution and further development of the software WINPACCS from the GTZ and agrees on a close cooperation on its future development.

2001

The DOS based application PACCS is ported to Windows. The name of the software changes from PACCS to WINPACCS.

1997
The last manual project book keeping of a GTZ project is replaced by PACCS. Ever since, all worldwide projects use PACCS for their project accounting.

1994

The Welthungerhilfe and the DED choose PACCS as their standard accounting application and introduces the system worldwide.

The mbi GmbH does the configuration of PACCS for the requirements of the DED and provides maintenance and support.

1986

The application PACCS (Project Accounting System) is introduced to GTZ-projects.

1985

GTZ takes the strategic decision to replace all manual book-keeping in the projects with a computerized system and starts to develop a PC-based accounting software.
